March 5, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce FC Arizona as its newest member.

Based in Gilbert, AZ, FC Arizona will begin UPSL play in the 2020 Spring Season as part of the Western Conference Southwest Division. The club will host its UPSL home games at Campo Verde High School (3870 S. Quartz Street, Gilbert, AZ 85297) in compliance with UPSL National Division standards.

United Premier Soccer League West Coast Director Gary Brunner said, "FC Arizona is a great addition to the UPSL and we are very excited to welcome the club to the Southwest DIvision. The club has established itself as a competitive side in the NPSL and will bring a lot of talented players to the table in the UPSL. We wish them luck as the prepare to kick off this season."

FC Arizona was created in 2016 and has played the last three years in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). The club will now compete concurrently in the UPSL.

Jamie Landreman is Owner of FC Arizona. Dave Rogers is Technical Director and Head Coach. Ryan Purtell, Shannon Cole and Noel Castillo serve as Assistant Coaches.

"We decided to go ahead with the 2020 UPSL team this season as creating a clear and present pathway for our homegrown academy players and local community players is paramount in our structure and vision to grow and develop our club. As a club we believe in the development and progression of our players and now they will be encouraged and guided to excel and embrace this fantastic opportunity with the UPSL by gaining valuable experience that will allow them to embrace another level of senior level football both individually and collectively," Rogers said.

Melissa Helmkamp is Director of Club Operations for FC Arizona. Chris Mercer is Director of Business Operations. Aimee Purtell is Director of Social Media.

In the coming weeks the club will be announcing its game schedule for the season.

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams nationwide. The UPSL is the largest Pro Development League in North America. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining UPSL National League minimum standards.

UPSL teams are eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the league's affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
