UPSL Announces Florida Expansion with Diaspora United

Kissimmee (Fla.)-Based Pro Development Club Joins UPSLs Southeast Conference

December 26, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Diaspora United Community Club as a member kicking off with the 2020 Spring Season.

Based in Kissimmee (Fla.), Diaspora United Community Club is operated by its Board of Directors, and will begin UPSL play in the Southeast Conference Florida Central Division. The club will play its home games at Tohopekaliga High School (3675 Boggy Creek Rd, Kissimmee, FL 34744) in compliance with UPSL National Division standards.

United Premier Soccer League Florida Division Manager Christian Vallejos said, "We're pleased to welcome Diaspora United Community Club to the Florida Central Division. 'DUCC' has a strong leadership group in the Baptiste Family, and they want to take on a challenge of creating a soccer community. We wish Diaspora United Community Club the best as it prepares for the 2020 Spring Season."

Diaspora United Community Club (DUCC) began in 2019, and will compete exclusively in the UPSL.

Kimberly Baptiste is President of Diaspora United Community Club. Zavyeh Baptiste and Issabelle Baptiste serve as Vice Presidents. Roberto Baptiste is General Manager.

"Our goal is to build a Professional Development and Youth Development soccer community club. We believe that a new approach needs to take place in order to put players and our community first as a way to spread the joy of soccer," Roberto Baptiste said.

The club will announce tryouts and its upcoming game schedule.

About Diaspora United Community Club

Diaspora United Community Club is an American Soccer club currently based in Kissimmee, Fla., and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. DUCC will begin play in the UPSL Southeast Conference.

Founded in 2019, DUCC can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).

United Premier Soccer League

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 500-plus teams targeted for 2020 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
