San Antonio (Texas)-Based Pro Development Club Adds both Mens and Womens Teams to the UPSL

February 14, 2019 - Los Angeles - The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to announce Alamo City Soccer Club as a new member starting with the 2019 Spring Season.

Based in San Antonio (Texas), Alamo City Soccer Club will operate the UPSL Central Conference Heart Division and in the UPSL Women's Division Central Conference.

Alamo City SC will host its home games at Alamo Sportsplex (7440 FM 1560 N, San Antonio, TX 78254), a 74-acre complex with 15 full-size fields and a stadium under construction, owned and managed by the club.

United Premier Soccer League National Director Matt Kahla said, "Alamo City Soccer Club has been a strong soccer club for a number of years and we're excited to welcome them to the UPSL's Central Conference. Executive Director Rick Kuchka wants Pro Development teams on both the men's and women's sides to be a part of the future of the club, and he knows he'll find a welcoming home in the UPSL and the UPSL Women's Division. We're excited to see the talent on the field for Alamo City SC, and wish the club the best as it prepares for the upcoming 2019 Spring Season."

A six-time Texas State Cup age-group champion, Alamo City Soccer Club features boys and girls recreational and competitive teams of all ages, servicing more than 800 players in the greater San Antonio and San Marcos (Texas) areas.

Alamo City Soccer Club President and Executive Director Rick Kuchka said, "We've set this up as a post-graduation pathway for players to come back, and so they can continue playing with the club they grew up with. We're going to provide both a UPSL team and a UPSL Women's Division team so both have an equal chance to compete and develop players and coaches. We're hoping the stadium will be a popular destination for the local community as we bring out some of the area's best food trucks and beverages from local breweries, all while putting quality teams out on the pitch."

A native of Berwick (Pa.), Kuchka, 38, has been in his current role with Alamo City SC for five years.

"We like the way the UPSL is set up with Promotion/Relegation. We know we can be competitive here, and we're even considering placing a reserve team in next season. We can to get more players involved that way, and then be able to give more opportunities to youth players," Kuchka said.

The club will soon announce its upcoming game schedule.
