December 11, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Rick Kuchka as Women's Division Central Conference Manager.

Kuchka will promote UPSL's Pro Development structure to local women's teams and clubs that fit with the league's model.

United Premier Soccer League National Director Matt Kahla said, "When I first started the search for a Women's Division Central Conference Manager my first thought was Rick Kuchka. With what he has done with his own Women's Team, and his own club at Alamo City, I knew he would be an asset to the UPSL. I look forward to working with him to bring two full seasons of soccer in the Women's Division Central Conference in 2020."

Kuchka, 44, take on his new role concurrent to his responsibilities as President and Executive Director of San Antonio (Texas)-based Alamo City Soccer Club.

United Premier Soccer League Women's Division Central Conference Manager Rick Kuchka said, "With the experience I've gained running youth leagues and managing clubs, I'm working toward having an immediate impact with the UPSL in the Women's Division Central Conference. Successful league management requires an understanding of not just soccer but the different challenged that clubs are face with. The financial piece is normally the biggest hurdle for grass roots soccer clubs but I hope that I can share some of my knowledge with our clubs and build a viable and sustainable conference. I believe there is a lot of potential for growth throughout Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana, but only if I do my job and provide the best support possible for our member teams."

A talented goalkeeper, Kuchka was selected the San Antonio (Texas) Express News All-City Goalkeeper in 1993. He was a Program Manager in the U.S. Army IMCOM, and holds an MA in Business Administration while working toward a graduate certificate in Entrepreneurship from the prestigious Wharton School of Business.

He currently holds a United States Soccer Federation National 'C' Coaching License, an NSCAA Advanced National Advanced Diploma.

"The inaugural year for the UPSL Women's Division went well and I think it will continue to improve as we build on the lessons learned in getting it off the ground," Kuchka said. "I think with the popularity of soccer in our region and the talent I've seen over the past few years, the Central Conference will be highly competitive in 2020."

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 500-plus teams targeted for 2020 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining UPSL national minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
